Belgium: the B2B law and its consequences

It may have escaped you, but since the beginning of January 2021 a new law, known as the "B2B Law" has come into force in Belgium.

This law, which some already consider to be incompatible with the free movement of services and goods in Europe, places certain constraints on vendors, with the aim of providing better protection for companies in the provision of services that create "economic dependence" for the weaker player.

A kind of consumer protection for companies.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

From a strategic point of view, it's a fact that the customer of 2021 wants greater transparency and cost predictability than the customer of 2010.

So we need to see the opportunity behind these new obligations to make ourselves more sustainable as a company, and to stick as closely as possible to the economic reality on the ground.
